Oral Surgeon in West Wichita, KS
If you live in west Wichita, from Ridgeport and Ridge Road to Northridge Lakes, Bennington Place, or nearby Maize, our N. Ridge Road office puts an experienced oral surgery team close to home. You’ll find us just off N. Ridge Road, in a location built for easy in-and-out visits without fighting traffic across town.
At Mid-Kansas Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, our board-certified surgeons treat the full range of oral and facial conditions. We built this office to feel calm and welcoming, because we know a surgical visit can be stressful, and we want you to feel taken care of from the moment you walk in.
Our west Wichita team provides:
- Wisdom teeth removal, including impacted or complex cases
- Dental implants and full arch treatment for missing or failing teeth
- Bone grafting to prepare your jaw for implants or restore lost structure
- Corrective jaw surgery to fix bite and jaw alignment problems
- Facial trauma treatment for injuries from accidents or sports
- TMJ evaluation and treatment for jaw joint pain
- Exposure of impacted canines, coordinated with your orthodontist
- Cleft lip and palate repair for pediatric patients
Most patients come to us on referral from a general dentist or orthodontist, but you’re welcome to reach out directly if you have questions about a procedure. During your first visit, we’ll review your health history, take any needed imaging, and walk you through your options in plain language before recommending a treatment plan.
We use current anesthesia and sedation techniques so you stay comfortable throughout your procedure, and our team gives you clear aftercare instructions so recovery goes smoothly.
Our west side office is open Monday through Friday. We speak Spanish, and with Language Line support we can communicate in virtually any language you need, including ASL. If you or your child has been referred for wisdom teeth removal, a dental implant consultation, or another oral surgery procedure, call our west Wichita office to schedule. We’re glad to help you get back to eating, speaking, and smiling without pain.
Reviews:
- The surgeon and clinical care itself were fine; however, the billing and administrative side of the practice has been very disappointing. I have been trying to resolve an issue involving a refund of insurance payments due to our two dental insurance plans, and it has been an ongoing challenge.
I’ve received multiple delays and explanations, but there has been little progress. In fact, if I had not repeatedly followed up, I’m not confident we would have any resolution or clear answers even 6–9 months later. We are still currently waiting for a resolution.
At this point, the lack of communication and follow-through has been frustrating and unacceptable.
Taylor Matthews6/03/2026 - On referral I made an appointment with Dr. Tingey to have a tooth extraction on Dec 22. I ask front desk if they were in network with my insurance ( instead of asking my insurance representative). I was told yes, that my co-pay was 20% and would have to pay it after having the procedure. Upon checkout I was told I had to pay the entire cost and submit a reimbursement form to my insurance on my own. I said the girl at the front desk (heavy set, blue hair) said I only had to pay the 20% and I was told " she no longer works here. You have to pay the entire amount. SHES SITTING AT THE FRONT DESK. I KNOW WHO I TALKED TO. Luckily my granddaughter had enough money to pay the entire cost. I submitted the papers to my insurance, got notification that I would receive a check within 10 days.. March 3. I called my insurance company and they said they had sent the reimbursement to MKO&M on January 6th. The representative made a 3-way call to MKO&M were told the financial and billing department was not available to leave a message. I called the next day (they're in Missouri) and the lady said yes they got the reimbursement on January 6th and wondered why they hadn't sent it to me. She messaged them, and I was told I would receive my money by Wednesday March 11th. She also said MKO&M is not in network with my insurance so my reimbursement would be $150. Today is March 11th and I haven't received my money yet. I am going to contact the BBB and lodge a complaint about their business practices. I noticed in reviews that there were others who are still waiting for their reimbursements after over a year.
I will never recommend MKO&M to anyone.
Carol Mcenroe3/11/2026 - Shouting from the ROOFTOPS that we 100% recommend Mid-Kansas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Both locations were very clean and easy to find. It was also very easy to schedule. The communication was top notch. Dr. Tingey was so informational and kind. He answered every question our daughter had at her consultation with the utmost patience. She had her very 1st ever procedure today at the east location. Her nerves started to get to her and a couple of tears started to roll down her cheek. As Dr. Tingey was calmly explaining everything he was doing, he was also wiping every tear before it fell. I knew in that moment that our daughter was safe and going to be under the best care. Very impressed all around, human connection is everything. Thank you everyone down to the nurses and the front desk.. You are all exceptional. ❤️
Whitney Billups1/15/2026 - My daughter Brooklyn had her wisdom teeth removed today! Very professional and friendly environment! A few hiccups with insurance on our end. The front staff and office manager handled it with ease. Enjoyed meeting Kristin marketing and communications manager in the front office. Great chat with her! Assistants were very informational and helpful. Dr. Gagnon was wonderful and completed the procedure in no time! Highly recommended!
Meghan Brown1/03/2026 - Dr Tingey and his staff are very compassionate and make you feel less anxious. Dr Tingey is honest and very knowledgeable about what procedure would give the patient the right outcome. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone who is needing oral surgery. His office is clean well organize. His front desk girls and his assistants are top notch.
Deborah Mitzner11/05/2025 - I must say, it would probably be a lot easier and I definitely wouldn't blame anyone for doing it but it would probably be easier a lot of times to kind of look the other way when you see a person like me coming and needing help from you or your business.
You guys not only didn't turn the cheek and look the other way you graciously, fully accepted me with the most caring open arms I have ever received going anywhere let alone to the dentist. Thank you and your team for truly caring about me simply as a human being and wanting the best outcome for me!
